Wade McKinnon [Customer Service Manager]
Wade started his journey at Wests 12 years ago in 2006, commencing as a casual Customer Service Attendant in our Catering department and progressed to a Restaurant Supervisor before choosing to make the switch to our Gaming department. Wade then worked a role within the Club’s Member Rewards department and then transitioned to his current position of Customer Service Manager.
Wade believes that working at Wests offers great opportunities for personal and professional growth, staff that demonstrate drive and ambition are given every opportunity to be trained in an array of different job roles that ensure the learning journey is never complete. Wests have always preferred to make internal appointments for leadership roles resulting in the majority of Front-line Leaders having come through the business with on-the-ground experience.
Petah Jensen [Junior Sous Chef]
Petah first joined Wests Group Macarthur as a Casual Chef in 2013 and earned a full-time position as a Function Chef in 2016. Petah become responsible for designing menus and delivering high-quality food to our many Weddings and Functions held at both Wests Leagues and Lakeside Golf Club Camden. Petah was then selected to participate in 2017’s Chefs Table Competition and became a successful finalist in representing Wests with integrity and pride. Petah’s perseverance and commitment to her work rewarded her with the appointment of Junior Sous Chef in 2018.
Petah loves working at Wests Group Macarthur, in particular, the variety and challenges that each of her roles has provided. Petah said that working within an expanding organisation like Wests Group Macarthur has given her great opportunities to be exposed to a variety of food service forms in different kitchen environments allowing her to advance her skillset and job role. Petah is excited about the many dining developments scheduled across the group’s venues and can’t wait to stamp her own flavour on Wests Group Macarthur.
Kevin Weatherstone [Duty Manager]
Kevin began his career at Wests some 11 years ago in 2007 where he worked as the face of the Club welcoming our patrons as they arrived in our foyer. Kevin then progressed to a Club Supervisor and spent a couple of years working at Wests Tennis Club before being appointed as a Duty Manager at Wests League Club.
Kevin loves working at Wests and the diverse nature of his role, he enjoys being able to impart his knowledge and experience onto the new staff and assist with their development. Kevin is a firm believer that if you have the right mindset and dedication, Wests will present enough opportunities to ensure that career progression is achievable. Kevin thinks that Wests provides some of the best rewards for staff that are simply doing their job, as a Duty Manager part of Kevin’s role is to provide feedback about the performance of staff members and make recommendations for Wests’ BRAVO Rewards & Recognition Program.
Elise Wafer [Team Member]
Elise commenced employment at Wests in 2015 like most people starting out by picking up glasses. During her time at the Club, she has received training in multiple areas of the Club including; Bar, Cocktails, Gaming (Payouts, Cashier, VIP service) and the Club’s Reception Desk.
Elise has been able to master her skills in a variety of areas throughout the Club, therefore increasing her value to our business and ensuring her best opportunity to be rostered shifts. Elise said she enjoys working at the Club because her working week is regularly split up by different job roles ensuring that she experiences great variety and never gets bored.
Bradley Murray [Apprentice Greenkeeper]
Bradley joined the Wests Group Macarthur team in August 2016 as an Apprentice Greenkeeper at Lakeside Golf Club Camden. Bradley’s timing couldn’t have been more perfect to join our team with significant changes scheduled to our 40+ hectare golf course over the coming years, enabling him to be involved in not only golf course maintenance but golf course construction. Bradley’s learnings both on course and TAFE are giving him the best exposure to all facets of his newly chosen career.
Bradley has really enjoyed his time learning and developing his trade under our skilled and experienced Greenkeepers and looks forward to building his knowledge about different soil profiles, relevant machinery and the various facets of golf course development.
